

Landing at Old Grass Field Airports in NJ and PA
The Golden Age of aviation is still alive today in the use of these old grass strip airports that still exist. Years before long paved runways that land airliners, biplanes would navigate with little or no instruments and land (sometimes in the dark) on these small grass landing "areas." One of the ones I visited (Sunbury Airport) was opened in the early 1900s as an emergency field for pilots flying the mail. Mostly used today for Camping, the field is still open to airplanes
